When Jean-Baptiste Alexandre de Baillet received the title of Count in 1674, he adopted the coat of arms of the Boncourt, whose last branch thus extinguished: "Arms: azure, full blown golden sail hanging from a yard in fess, shield topped with golden crown with nine pearls (three raised). Supporters: two eagles, proper, regardant, beaked, langued and membered". Since then, all Baillet considered these arms as theirs. The family perpetuates the device: "VOUS PERDEZ TEMPS". During the 18th century, several members of the de Baillet Latour family served brilliantly in the Austrian imperial armies. In the early 19th century, several branches of the family established themselves in Antwerp, taking on important roles in finance, politics and senior administration.
