KUL & UCL Europe-China chair
China, a new major hub in our international relations
During the last decade, China has become an essential player both in the world economy and in the geopolitical balance of power. Since September 2008, the ambitions of the InBev-Baillet Latour Fund, the KULeuven and the UCL have been to develop a new centre of excellence and to increase the offer of international relations courses in China, and to increase intra- and interuniversity co-operation. The creation of these Chairs will lead to the award of several prizes, the funding of research seminars, the development of specific courses, an exchange programme for Louvain/Leuven professors, and the possible award of short-duration grants to Chinese researchers. The Chairs will also organise conferences and working groups. The aim of these activities is to attract the interest of the student, academic and public (Belgian, European and international authorities) sectors. Facts
